  • Location: Remote but MUST reside in or near the Western Panhandle for events and meetings (Okaloosa, Walton, Santa Rosa or Escambia Counties)


Due to the nature of this position, the state requires that All Family Resource Specialist MUST BE a parent or primary caregiver (i.e. foster parent) of an infant or toddler who received or would have been eligible for early intervention services.

Responsibilities

Provide non-medical education, support and advocacy to patients and their families.

  • Investigate, document and respond to patient and visitor complaints and concerns. Escalate complaints and concerns to appropriate personnel/department(s) as necessary to obtain timely, satisfactory resolution.
  • Explain the organization's policies and procedures to patients and visitors.
  • Develop, implement and participate in customer service and patient relations initiatives.
  • Regularly analyze complaint data and report to appropriate leadership.
  • Participate in committees, work groups, and process improvement teams aimed at improving patient satisfaction.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
    • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Individuals employed by the LES who assist families of infants and toddlers in the Early Steps Program by providing information, support and training, and serve as a community link to family centered efforts and activities.

General Job Description:

  • Investigates, documents and responds to patient and visitor complaints and concerns. Escalate

    complaints and concerns to appropriate personnel/department(s) as necessary to obtain timely,

    atisfactory resolution.
  • May be responsible for regulatory reporting and advocacy support to patients and their families. Ensure

    confidentiality of complaints, recipient rights reports, investigative reports and other rights-related

    materials.
  • Explains the organization's policies and procedures to patients and visitors. Provides support with

    navigating the healthcare system.
  • Develops, implements and participates in customer service and patient relations initiatives.
  • Regularly analyzes complaint data and reports to appropriate leadership. Participates in committees,

    work groups, and process improvement teams aimed at improving patient satisfaction.
  • Ensures that reports of apparent or suspected violations of rights are investigated and that those

    reports that do not warrant investigation are recorded and securely stored.
