Job Duties

Provide support to Family Services reentry initiatives to include the Family Reunification Program and Nursery Program. Provide psycho-educational, psycho-therapeutic and direct services to Family Services program participants. Uses effective communication to resolve conflict, model pro-social/responsible behavior and maintain clinical/therapeutic boundaries. Works directly with inmates to promote positive and healthy relationships with child(ren) and families. Coordinates and monitor transitional services, programs and reentry planning for family. Establishes professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to support inmates for successful reentry with their child(ren) and community. Promotes the development of self and staff through identified training opportunities and various networking opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge and experience in considerable aspects of specialized individual and family therapy. Experience in facilitating courses. Knowledge of Family Services and parenting programs for incarcerated populations. In-depth knowledge of social services programs. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both orally and written. Demonstrated ability to complete reports, review policies, procedures and interpret best practices. High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Considerations

Experience working with Family Services and parenting programs and services for incarcerated populations. Knowledge of implementation science. Skilled in effectively presenting and communicating to diverse audiences. Working knowledge of gender-responsive and trauma-informed care practices. High school diploma or equivalent. Coursework in psychology, rehabilitation counseling, social work and/or related human services field. Professional certification in a relevant family counseling discipline or human services. Experience working with inmates in reentry, pre-release and/or cognitive community settings.
