This position supports the California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by creating innovative solutions, strengthening partnerships and collaborations, and embracing technology. The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) leverages data and technology to advance goals and inform action and accountability.
Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I, CHCQ Support Section. The Information Technology Supervisor II (IT Sup II) plans, organizes, and directs, the complex activities of an information technology (IT) systems group, which performs mission-critical federal systems support using web, workflow, and other technologies. The IT Sup II directs the activities of Federal Systems Support Unit in coordination with others in the Section and Branch to ensure efficient use of resources. The IT Sup II identifies, documents, and monitors defined service level and performance management standards. The IT Sup II assists health services providers in determining resident assessment compliance with laws and regulations. The IT Sup II supervises staff in addition to, but not limited to, the following positions mandated by the United States federal government Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS): Automated Survey Processing Environment Automation Coordinator, Minimum Data Set Automation Coordinator, and Outcome and Assessment Information set Automation Coordinator. The IT Sup II participates and leads the efforts in developing the strategies to implement changes set by CMS, Federal and State partners, as well as Center for Healthcare Quality (CHCQ) program areas. The IT Sup II coordinates project management standards by serving as a liaison between the CHQ and other ITSD sections, CHCQ headquarters business staff, CHCQ district office management and the CMS team.

The IT Sup II performs duties in the Business Technology Management domain.
