Federal Work Study Student Worker, Switchboard

Overview:

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is seeking a Federal Work Study Student for the position of Student Worker, Switchboard. The switchboard assistant responds to all incoming calls to the college's main telephone number. Student employee performs routine, and some non-routine, continuous and repetitive work involving the operation of the college telephone switchboard. Incoming calls and questions can be many and varied and involve both internal and external contacts. The days and hours for this position are Monday through Friday 10 am 2pm or Monday through Friday 12 pm 4 pm.

Essential Duties:

• Answer incoming calls

• Assist and evaluate calls in helpful manner

• Distribute calls to proper parties

Minimum Qualifications:

The hiring of student workers by Cincinnati State is premised on eligibility guidelines for federal work study employment: eligible applicants must be high school graduates or have attained a GED. Additionally, eligible applicants for work study positions at Cincinnati State must be at least 16 years of age on or before the date of hire.

• Must have completed a FAFSA for the current school year.

• Must meet and continue to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

• Must be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen.

• Must demonstrate financial need

• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills required.

• Sound judgment

Hourly Pay: $14.00 per hour

Status: Position is part-time working no more than 20 hours per week.
