Occupational Summary:

The Field Service Technician II provides on-site support at the Air Framer for Safran Aerospace Seats pertaining to interiors manufactured in USA, France and Great Britain. The team of Field Service Technicians provides assistance to Air Framer / Airline customers during the build of the Aircraft specific to installation issues, damaged parts, reworking pickups, cosmetic defects and any customer relations issues we have. Rework areas include: Receiving, BFE, Factory and Flight line relating to all built Aircraft with Safran Seats product. All rework preformed at the Air Framer must adhere to Safran Seats drawings, specifications and specific rework instructions. This position will work under general supervision and reports to the OSS Manager on a daily basis. This position handles moderately complex issues and problems. Refers more highly complex issues to higher-level technicians.

Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):

A) Rework and stamp pickups on all seat class types written by Boeing / Aircraft customers during the build of the Aircraft.
B) Replace/troubleshoot faulty electronic components and other damaged parts, adjusting misaligned panels / trim pieces, provide assistance to Boeing seat installation team and other miscellaneous tasks given.
C) Sustains a high quality level of workmanship at all times.
D) Responds promptly to all communication (telephone, etc.) with Boeing personnel and customers.
E) Maintain a good rapport with Boeing personnel and customers.
F) Follow Safran /Boeing safety guidelines or processes established by the organization at all times.
G) Submits part order requests and understands the POA / SOA process at Boeing / Safran .
H) Responsible for driving company van and other technicians safely around Boeing/Safran Facilities.
I) Attend Safran daily standup/tie-in meeting.
J) Adhere to Boeing/Safran training requirements that relate to Flight line, Safety and other course overviews throughout the year.
K) Coordinate verbally with QA's, Engineers, Lead's, Technicians and other key Boeing / Safran personnel on a daily basis.
L) Performs other duties as assigned.

Travel specifictity
Less than one week of total traveling per year; international and domestic

Additional description
Hiring Bonus: This position qualifies for a $1500 hiring bonus. $750 will be paid out after 90 days of continuous employment and after 180 days of continuous employment.

Candidate skills & requirements
Qualification Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

i) Knowledge of Safran passenger seating preferred.
ii) Basic knowledge of CMM's, Drawing's and other important technical documents.
iii) Natural mechanical ability with hand and power tools.
iv) Basic computer knowledge and have some familiarity with MS office applications.
v) Proficient using smart phones / tablets on a daily basis to send emails, pictures and other applications.
vi) Ability to work efficiently under stressful situations.
vii) Follows instructions and complete jobs in a timely manner.
viii) Customer service is essential for this job and the employee must have excellent communication skills, verbally and hand written.
ix) Must have the availability to work various hours, after hours and weekend as needed.
x) Must have ability to maintain multiple tasks simultaneously, including the ability to manage assignments from more than one customer during any given day.
xi) Willing to travel to other Boeing FALs in other state and other international Safran sites on some occasion.
xii) Valid driver's license, clean driving record and the ability to obtain a passport.

Education and Experience:

i) High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree in a related technical field preferred.
ii) 2 years of Field Service experience related to troubleshooting and repairs on Aircraft interiors required.

Communication Skills: Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve problems and think strategically.

Physical Demands: This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately thirty five pounds are required during tasks related to the job.
