Shermco Industries, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician - Lock Out Tag Out

Position: Field Service Technician - Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO)

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Summary: Shermco Industries is seeking an experienced LOTO Field Service Technician to join our team immediately on a project scheduled to continue through the end of the year. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-site LOTO services that ensure all equipment is safely shutdown, isolated, and locked out prior to maintenance and repair work. This role involves the successful administration and implementation of LOTO procedures, including installation of locks, tags, and other warning devices.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all LOTO procedures are properly implemented, ensuring the safety of all workers on the job site
  • Properly install locks, tags, and other warning devices per LOTO training and procedures
  • Help conduct on-site assessments of customer facilities to identify potential hazards
  • Provide support with issuing and releasing clearances
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for LOTO related issues
  • Understand and uphold the safety culture of ensuring that each worker on the job site is kept safe

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Should be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam when required
  • At least one (1) year of experience in implementing LOTO procedures, electrical installation, heavy industrial, or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to effectively educate workers on the importance of LOTO procedures and work site safety
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, ensuring that LOTO procedures are properly implemented and followed by all workers on the job site
  • Basic understanding of hazards associated with electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ability to take direction from on-site LOTO managers
  • Ability to travel and work at the job site for an extended period
  • Ability to work on a rotational shift of days and nights
  • Ability to work safely on a large construction site with numerous moving parts, uneven ground, and inclement weather

Desired Requirements:
  • Knowledge of OHSA regulations and industry standards for LOTO procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings
  • Advanced understanding of hazards associated with electrical and mechanical systems
