Our client is seeking an Environmental Technician to work in our Aiken, South Carolina office to provide support on a variety of environmental projects across the Southeast.
The main duties and responsibilities of the position include assisting lead scientists during wetland delineations, habitat assessments, and protected species surveys; performing field audits and compliance inspections; data gathering and record keeping; and preparing reports. They wont be responsible for drafting the final reports.Room for growth could be growing into field lead in the future.
Other duties may include groundwater, surface water, and soil sampling using USEPA and State approved methods. Work for government, utility, and private sector clients in these areas is possible.

This position requires self-motivation, dedication and compliance with strict safety guidelines and the ability to work as part of a team with daily direction from project management. The position provides the opportunity to learn and work with other departments and learn other environmental related services. Vehicle(s) are provided for all fieldwork.

Required Skills & Experience

Someone who is willing to learn what TT is doing and is willing to be trained
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to obtain additional certifications, as needed (various state stormwater inspector certifications)
Multifunctional - Must be willing to work on a team where roles are dynamic in nature and tasks may rotate or change daily.
Must have exceptional attention to detailto collect data accurately and thoroughly
Comfortable working outdoors:
Must be able to walk up and down slopes and on uneven terrain
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Flexible Hours - Must be able to work weekends, overtime, and/or extended hours when required as needed
Field hours: can vary depending on project (7-5PM)
Must be able to travel and work at remote sites as needed

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Higher education degree or courses in the field of science
40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification or be able to complete it on the job
First Aid/CPR certification
Experience with MS Word and Excel
