Plans, schedules, supervises, and has administrative authority over the field engineering work in an assigned area. Controls field engineering activities, prepares construction and procurement schedules, conducts subcontract negotiations, and provides technical guidance to support construction operations in accordance with the construction program.

Entry level field technology position performing relatively routine tasks using basic knowledge of the principles and practices acquired through extensive academic preparation.

University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or equivalent trade qualification combined with further relevant training and experience. Experience varies based on education background. Those with degree typically have little to no relevant experience. Those with trade qualifications will generally have 4+ years relative experience.

Decisions are of routine nature usually based on clearly defined procedures. Few independent technical decisions or recommendations are made.

Works under close supervision and technical guidance with regular daily interaction with supervisor. Duties directly assigned weekly. Work is reviewed daily to weekly for accuracy, adequacy, and conformance with prescribed procedures.

Has no direct or indirect reports and does not assign work to anyone.

Communicate basic information with peers, stakeholders, and management. Persuasion is limited to articulating and substantiating own point of view to peers and supervisors.

Basic understanding of systems, processes and tools specifically related to field.
