Job Duties

For more than 35 years, the Virginia Lottery has been building an amazing organization committed to growth and giving back - and having fun while doing it. Operating entirely on revenue from game sales, rather than tax dollars, the Virginia Lottery generates more than $2.0 million per day for Virginia's K-12 public schools. The Virginia Lottery also licenses and regulates casino gaming and mobile sports betting.

The Virginia Lottery, an independent state agency, is currently seeking a part-time hourly Finance Analyst to join our Finance team. This position is located in Richmond, Virginia. This is a wage position and is limited to 1,500 hours of work in the twelve-month period beginning May 1, through April 30. No state benefits are provided.
The Finance Analyst will:
* Support the finance team with budget development, monitoring, and reporting.
* Provides D365 Finance and Operations data analysis.
* Performs process improvement development and implementation.
* Provides End-User training for D365 for business unit users.
* Performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

The person selected for this position will have:
* Bachelor's degree in finance, management, business, or related field.
* Experience with data analysis and developing ad hoc queries from high volume financial transactional data.
* Experience in budget development and monitoring.
* Strong understanding of financial accounting practices in a dynamic work environment
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Access).

A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Additional Considerations

* D365 Finance and Operations experience a plus.
