The role you'll contribute:
The Reimbursement Analyst is responsible for assisting the Reimbursement Manager with the preparation of work papers for the filing of the annual Medicare, Medicaid, and Champus/Tricare cost reports, audit preparation and other cost report settlement activity. Additionally, this position is responsible for special projects related to the regulatory reimbursement function as assigned. Duties assigned are performed under the oversight of the Reimbursement Manager.

• Assist with the preparation and submission of accurate and timely cost reports as required by Medicare, Medicaid and other State or Federal agencies for the Adventist Health System's hospitals
• Assist with the coordination of the Medicare, Medicaid and other State or Federal agency cost report audits, providing supporting documentation, reviewing audit adjustments, and responding to audit findings in a timely and efficient manner
• Update, review, and maintain supporting documentation for the Medicare and Medicaid Uniform Contractual Worksheet-Third Party Settlement (UCW-TPS) templates of each Adventist Health System hospital according to standardized policies and procedures to properly reflect the financial reporting of third party balances of Adventist Health System
• Review the reasonableness of hospital interim reimbursement rates and special payments received from Medicare and Medicaid and follow-up as appropriate
• Discuss hospital third party settlement results with hospitals' financial leadership
• Maintain a working knowledge of current laws and regulations of the Federal Medicare and State Medicaid programs, including changes affecting hospital reimbursement of Medicare bad debt, graduate medical education, disproportionate share hospital adjustment, and uncompensated care payments
• Complete special projects assigned by the department manager or director within the time frame requested
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant financial work
• Possess an understanding of financial accounting and auditing principles and their application to healthcare
• Strong computer software skills including Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to learn new technology applications used by Adventist Health System
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Well organized and detail-oriented
Preferred Qualifications :
• Knowledge of Medicare and state Medicaid program reimbursement laws and regulations
• Ability to research and interpret Medicare and Medicaid laws and regulations
• Proficient in use of regulatory cost reporting software
• Experience in healthcare reimbursement including Medicare, Medicaid reimbursement and regulatory cost reporting
