The role you'll contribute:

This position reports to the Director of Corporate Accounting & Consolidations and serves the organization as a leader on the corporate accounting team, managing key financial accounting systems and processes, including significant balance sheet areas such as investments, long-term debt, and net assets. The AdventHealth consolidation includes hundreds of subsidiaries, total assets of over $20 billion dollars and revenue exceeding $14 billion. The Accounting Manager supervises a team of Accounting professionals responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of all financial and statistical data in the AdventHealth Consolidation application. This Manager will develop, analyze, review, and present information for the benefit of executive management, financial decision-making and external financial reporting requirements. This Manager actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

• Provides overall leadership and support to Senior Financial Accountants to ensure they perform all assigned tasks in accordance with department goals and objectives

• Demonstrates a strong understanding of multi-dimensional mapping tables in financial reporting systems with the ability to design and implement data solutions

• Designs and manages training development strategies including delivery to end users on topics ranging from consolidated accounting rules and best practices to financial system training guides and data templates

• Trains others on accounting principles and business processes including various financial applications and technology solutions such as ERP, EPM, BlackRock's Aladdin & internally developed software

• Oversees monthly Corporate Close process with special attention to the critical path to close activities, ensuring a timely consolidation in accordance with AdventHealth policies

• Reviews AdventHealth's consolidated and legal entity financial statements to ensure that accounting and financial reporting packages are properly prepared, addressing any material items with urgency and accuracy

• Manages the intercompany elimination process, including reconciliation of consolidated intercompany balances and oversight of communication of necessary adjustments

• Demonstrates ability to develop complex financial analytics and effectively present analysis and outcomes to audiences at various levels, including executive leadership

• Supports AdventHealth's implementation of various accounting tools by managing cross-team functional integration testing for consolidation, investment and debt accounting applications

• Ensures compliance with company accounting policies and GAAP accounting standards

• Proposes solutions including policies, processes and metadata structure enhancements

• improve financial statement standardization and operational efficiency across the organization

• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in accounting management, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies

• Achieves superior customer satisfaction working directly with internal and external customers, including company-wide C-suite executives as appropriatexecutivese

• Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department

• Available outside of normal business hours for occasional support needs

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent degree from a four-year accredited university or college

• 6+ years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience

• 2+ years of people-leadership experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Strong US GAAP accounting theory and application skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of management, cross functional teams and external auditors

• Ability to multitask, prioritize work load, complete day to day activities and handle all urgent requests

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work proactively in teams with a high attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and balance work in a face-paced, deadline-oriented environment with high level of responsibility and ownership

• Team oriented, ability to overcome obstacles to achieve goals

• Self-starter with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Excellent time management skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications :

• Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Accounting Information Systems or related field

• 3+ years Healthcare Industry Experience

• CPA
