Job Summary

This position will be responsible for analysis, management and oversight of hospital, medical group, royalty, designated, and other funds within the department. This incumbent will take on performance and direction of financial analysis and reporting, to include supervision of financial analyst(s) and assistance with complex proformas on new initiatives. This position will play a key role in preparation and submission of the yearly budgets for the department and work directly with divisional leadership and staff to assure financial activities are conducted in line with the budget, and in a timely and compliant manner. As a key member of the department's financial management team, the incumbent will have significant interaction with departmental leadership, clinical faculty and outside university functions to ensure financial stewardship within the department. This role requires demonstrated personnel management experience; significant financial analysis experience either in academic setting or equivalent; must be organized; have an understanding of financial terminology and possess strong interpersonal skills and confidence in interacting with faculty.

Experience and Education

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and five (5) years progressively responsible experience in finance with demonstrated experience in planning, forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Master's degree in Business and healthcare experience preferred.
Job Duties
  • Working with manager, responsible for the department financial analysis and reporting, in support of budgeting, forecasting, and forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Supervise and mentor the financial analysis staff to ensure optimal operational expertise as well as technical knowledge.
  • Provide analytical support to departmental divisions.
  • Design and implement periodic operational reports as well as ad hoc reporting.
  • Develop multi-year cash flow projections for departmental projects.
  • Identify areas of financial risk, present findings, and make recommendations to the manager.
  • Provide strategic financial consultation and guidance to the manager regarding business proposals and make recommendations for optimizing the financial impact of business initiatives.
  • Provide advice to department management regarding key process improvement opportunities and serve as critical resource for implementation.
  • Complete more complex special projects as requested.
  • Perform other duties as required.
