This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Convoy Court and remote.

DESCRIPTION

Reports to Assistant Director, Physician Group Finance. Under minimal supervision this position plays a key role in support of efforts of senior and middle management to direct the fiscal administration of the clinical practice. This position will be primarily responsible for the maintenance, processing and auditing of all information interfacing into the EPSi budget module and other financial reporting tools and will have physician and clinical productivity, budget and financial support responsibility for departments within the UC San Diego Physician Group.

Overall, the position is charged with providing analytic services to all levels of management within the PG and provides critical analyses for performance measurement, decision making processes and general business information needs. Ensures accuracy of results, provides analysis and investigations of performance, utilization, clinical programs, and financial analyses. Works with clinical practice management to resolve or correct financial or procedural issues. Must also possess excellent communication skills, display a high level of professionalism, and work in a highly collaborative manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training in physician practice, medical group, medical center; or accounting, decision support or similar information analysis role OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training physician practice, medical group, medical center; or accounting, decision support or similar information analysis role.
  • Experience and proven success with thorough knowledge in finance policies, practices, and systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain professional relationships with executives, department management, physicians and clinicians, and others.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in an oral and written manner. This includes the ability to prepare and deliver small and large group presentations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of healthcare and industry trends.
  • Advanced skill in use of spreadsheet, relational database and word processing software.
  • Proven analytical skills to identify and comprehend opportunities for financial and operational improvement through data analysis and interpretation.
  • Advanced Degree in business, healthcare administration or related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $74,300 - $134,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $35.58 - $64.42

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
