JOB SUMMARY:

UT Southwestern Medical Center is the preeminent medical facility in North Texas and one of the leading hospital systems nationwide. There is a new opportunity available within the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center Department for a Senior Financial Analyst.
  • This is a Hybrid position with partial work from home and partial in office. Applicants must live in the DFW area and be able to come into the office as scheduled. Additional details shall be discussed as part of the interview process.
  • Shift: 8 hour days, Monday through Friday
The ideal candidate should have the following background:
  • Several years of experience with complex Excel spreadsheet business modeling
  • In depth knowledge of advanced Excel spreadsheet skills
  • Demonstrated skills in in-depth financial analysis.
  • Preferred experience with Profit and Loss reporting and General Ledger investigation
  • Ability to publish financial and performance metrics results in table and graphical forms.
  • Preferred experience with Power Point
  • Preferred experience with databases and query logic skills
  • Must be outgoing with good customer service skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.

EXPERIENCE | EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or other related field
  • And four (4) years progressively responsible experience in finance and/or accounting with experience in planning, forecasting, and financial analysis.
JOB DUTIES:
  • Completes variety of complex quarterly financial management reports by clinical department and reviews all reports for errors and inconsistencies; analyzes variations in performance; determines reasons for variance; and develops recommendations for improvement..
  • Prepares and/or supervises preparation of monthly financial reports and performs monthly cost accounting processes as assigned.
  • Identifies areas of opportunity, presents findings, and makes recommendations to upper management.
  • Prepares financial models and conducts financial analyses.
  • May maintain controls for policies and procedures for financial system; develops and maintains delegation of authority of various procedures, such as check requests, refunds, invoice approval, bad debt write-offs, etc.
  • Completes more complex special projects as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
