The Patient Access Financial Coordinator has skill set encompassing strong working knowledge of third-party payer regulations; interpretation of payer contracts and applying contractual agreement to ensure payment. Ability to be the liaison for challenging encounters requiring more than average time to resolve, to permit staff to manage workload.

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential

Responsibilities

• Completes accurate and timely third-party payer authorization requests

• Ensure continued correspondence with payers until an authorization number is received. Document all information obtained into the EMR and scan all corresponding documents.

• Responsible to interpret and verify information received from Insurance Payer

• Ensure communication with referring/rendering provider: obtain and validate authorizations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma

• Associates Degree or four (4) years of insurance experience in a healthcare environment preferred

• Medical Terminology required

• Anatomy and Physiology preferred but not required Licenses/Certifications/Registrations

Skills/Abilities

• Ability to type 60 WPM or more

• Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding

• Knowledge of Medicare and third-party payer regulation desired

• Ability to multitask, problem solve and work independently

• Strong organizational skills, effective interpersonal skills

Licenses, Certifications

• CPC, CCS, CCA preferred but not required

Salary Range
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $21.26 to $31.89 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
