The ro le you'll contribute:

Under general oversight by the supervisor, this role must demonstrate strong organizational skills and a positive resourceful attitude toward achieving overall hospital goals. The function of this role is to assist the supervisor with managing the day to day functions in the financial counseling area within Patient Financial Services. Required experience in a Patient Financial Services Department for a period of at least one (1) year working with insurance claims and patient accounts. Actively participate in outstanding customer service training and accept responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.

• Responsible for assisting the supervisor for monitoring initials process of self-pay accounts during pre-registration, registration and at discharge for follow-up process of self-pay receivables which includes all active accounts whereby we have pending agency/vendor cases, charity eligible accounts and other financial arrangements to the point of disposition. Responsible for training new staff and continued education for tenured staff. Protects financial standing of AdventHealth West Florida Division by appropriately placing financial responsibilities and arranging payment of deposits due up-front at all times.
• Prepares and processes files for patients who request assistance on their Hospital accounts to meet a variety of financial programs, as well as alternative methods of account satisfaction.
• Assesses the work performance of assigned employees, along with being able to interact in a professional manner with patients in collection procedures, billing problems, and protecting the hospital's financial standing. In coordination with the supervisor, provides accurate statistical records and reports to account for productivity standards.

Qualifications
T h e expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

• High School diploma or equivalent, typing skills equal to 30 words per minute, proficiency in the performance of basic math functions, capability of communicating professionally with an acceptable use of English and spelling.
• One (1) year team lead, supervisory, or management level experience in Revenue Cycle Department or related area (registration, finance, collections, customer service, medical, contract management).
