The Financial Specialist, AO - Advanced will:
  • Support the Income Support Division on all financial transactions.


How does it get done?

The Financial Specialist, AO - Advanced is responsible for:
  • Facilitating accurate and timely processing of all financial documents for ISD by utilizing the Statewide Human Resource Accounting and Management Reporting System (SHARE);
  • Reviewing financial forms submitted by the programs for accuracy and completeness;
  • Creating, tracking, auditing, managing, and completing all purchase requisitions, change orders, invoices, and journal entries;
  • Reviewing expenditures to verify they are eligible under the associated funding source(s);
  • Acting as Back-up to other Financial Specialists;
  • Completing monthly and quarterly reconciliations.

  • Income Support Division external vendors and stakeholders.


Ideal Candidate

The Ideal Candidate possesses the following:
  • Experience assisting with preparation/review of accounting documents for accuracy and compliance with laws, regulations, and accounting procedures;
  • Experience ensuring transactions are within the authorized budgets;
  • Experience in beginning and finalizing transactions;
  • Will have worked with Staff, Vendors, and other financial liaisons to facilitate solutions to issues to complete a transaction;
  • Experience meeting deadlines;


Minimum Qualification

High School Diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting and/or finance. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
