Description of Duties:

The Fire Alarm Technician supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
• Perform repairs and inspections on fire alarm systems
• Assist in Fire Alarm Testing
• Analysis of blue prints
• Integrate with other disciplines, engineers, general contractors and end users
• Manage and maintain certifications
• Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies
• Highly motivated, energetic team oriented individual
• Willing to get into confined spaces
• Meeting and escorting contractors

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 1 years of general experience; Associate's degree and 0 years of general experience.
• Must have 2 years of experience of Fire Alarm equipment testing and repairs experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs such as: Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of personalities.
• Must have a NICET I certification.
• Understanding of NFPA standards/codes.
• Troubleshoot and repair of fire alarm circuits.
• Ability to follow wiring diagrams and system specifications.
• Must have, or be able to obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Requirements:
• Possess a OSHA 30 certification
• Possess a Honeywell Class A Fire Alarm systems certification
• Possess a NICET II certification
• Possess an electrical license.
• Understanding of Unified Facilities Code (UFC) and NFPA requirements.
• Experience with Fire Suppression Systems.
• Experience testing backup batteries, VESDA systems, life safety system functions, life safety devices, or other electronic features to ensure proper functioning.
• Ability to multi-task, and manage time effectively.

This position is expected to pay $26.25 - $39.18 an hour; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
