Under the general direction of the Associate Warden, Business Services, the Fire Chief is responsible for the fire prevention and fire suppression activities within a State prison; supervises employees and Incarcerated Persons in fire prevention and fire suppression activities; promotes acceptable attitudes and behavior of staff and Incarcerated Persons under supervision; coordinates and implements the safety program and the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP.

Performs administrative duties, writes reports, attends meetings and training sessions, directs the activities of subordinates in medical, emergency services, fire, and life safety, and communicates with supervisors, staff, other agencies, and departments.

This advertisement is for a Fire Chief position. Located at the California Institution for Women in Corona, San Bernardino.

Limited term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
