Job Description Summary
To process daily point of service collections and prepare bank deposits. Document deposits in database to provide data for Point of Service Supervisor to generate reporting to Finance and Managements teams. Provide Help Desk support for Front End Payment Posters. Maintain control of and issue change fund and collection bags. Audit Front End users as needed. Assist Point of Service Supervisor.

Job Description

Prepare Epic Point of Service Collections: Receive and empty bags from couriers. Document arrival on courier logs and scan paperwork. Fill change requests via collection bags. Verify individual users’ collections. Contact users for missing collections and paperwork. Notify Point of Service Supervisor or Manager Patient Access Financial Services of discrepancies. Post payments and corrections. Document collection and posting errors. Enter Cash Drawer Summary information into MS Access database. Balance Cash Drawer Summaries to Epic transaction reports and credit card payments. Prepare bank deposit and send to bank with courier daily. Enter deposit information in Epic Deposit Tool and balance. Email completed deposit Excel file to POS Supervisor and Finance. Import Epic Cash Drawer and credit card transaction into database. Maintain database and information used for report generation. Provide collection information for MUSC Health Finance. Modify MS Access databases as needed for new tasks. Provide POS Help Desk Support for Front End Payment Posters. Function as a help desk call center for users who need assistance with payment posting, balancing and corrections. Support RHN Cash Coordinators with training and deposit preparation. Assist RHN Cash Coordinators with corrections and payment posting problems. Issue and return Change Fund and collection bags. Manage safes. Prepare Change Fund bags for users who have completed the required training and their supervisors have submitted the MUSC Health Cash Drawer and Bag Request form. Arrange for bag delivery to users. Distribute plastic collections bags to the MUSC Charleston offices. Update log sheets and paperwork as needed. Maintain secure control of change fund and collection bags as well as keys. Retrieve change funds, bags, and keys when employees separate. Collect bags from safes as needed. Assists with handing of safe and bag issues as needed. Program safes as needed. Assist Point of Service Supervisor in auditing collections, change funds and missing collections as needed. Distribute, collect and document audits in database. Verify cash box daily as assigned. Verify bank validations on deposit tickets.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Training and Education:A high school diploma and two years of experience in a related field (customer service representative, computer usage, insurance or previous hospital registration activities); or associate's degree and one year of related experience.Cash handling/teller experience preferred.Excellent math skills and experience with computers. Microsoft Excel and data entry skills preferred. Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and professional demeanor. Continuously seeks self-improvement through various programs and opportunities offered by the Medical Center and MUSC Physicians (e.g., Human Resources, Information Systems, Town Halls, Quality Improvement, etc...) Ability to operate equipment including, but not limited to, computers, printers, fax machines, multi-line phone system, and copier.
