What You Will Do
  • Provides written and oral information regarding the fitness center, and its programs and services to prospective and current members for the purpose of selling and retaining memberships.
  • Follow up with guest within 24-hours of a visit to facility via phone or email.
  • Makes telephone calls to prospective, current and cancelled members daily and sends report to Member Service Manager.
  • Responsible for obtaining center memberships, meeting sales objectives and participating in special events, promotions, and planning.
  • Sells Medically-Based Fitness Center Memberships through the development of new leads, center tours, phone and email inquiries, and prospecting of all lead sources.
  • Meets or exceeds weekly, monthly, and annual sales goals as determined by the General Manager.
  • Develops and exhibits proficiency in the utilization of the appropriate computerized sales lead and activity tracking and reporting system.
  • Assists with membership promotional concepts and planning.
  • Participates in special events of the Medically-Based Fitness Center.
  • Initiates personal involvement in local civic and service organizations in cooperation with other UH departments and leadership.
  • Participates in the Manager on Duty rotation to cover questions and issues that may arise during off hours.
  • Attends assigned departmental and health system meetings and specific project initiatives as assigned.
  • Follows UH and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code, and safety.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.


Qualifications:
Education
  • High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and
  • Bachelor's Degree In business, marketing, or public relations. (Required)
Work Experience
  • 1+ years Experience in the customer service or sales setting, including experience in conflict resolution, budgeted sales quotas or goals, retaining strategies, and marketing. (Preferred) and
  • 2+ years Experience in the health and fitness industry (Preferred) and
  • 2+ years Sales experience (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Demonstrates and possesses good interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral to work with staff, members, and guest. (Preferred proficiency)
  • Advanced knowledge of fitness software (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED within 90 Days (Required)
