Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a related specialized area or field, or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

From writing new or enhancing existing technical product guides, as our Fleet Documentation Technical Writing Specialist (Advanced Tech Writing Spec), your talent will be front and center. Youll create, develop, plan, write and edit complex operational, instructional, interactive electronic technical manuals (IETMs), maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication. Well depend on you to act as the primary technical editor on client deliverables. Youll implement editorial and document governance standards for quality and style; ensure all assigned deliverables meet these standards.

What you bring to the table:
  • Bachelors degree in a related specialized area or field, or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Fully proficient understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards required of technical publications
  • Ability to relay complex system information that can be understood by general users
  • Excellent editing, written, English and grammar skills

Skills and experience preferred:
  • Experience in a documentation tools technical role
  • Expert Arbortext, Arbortext DITA, Arbortext Style Sheets, XML, SGML SME, Java, Javascript skills
  • Windchill SME
  • S1000D conversion experience, standards SME
  • Strong working knowledge how documentation tools interact together, able to stress test
  • Strong documentation authoring/ editing skills
  • Creating and editing graphics experience
  • Program support- including requirements, impact assessments, and quoting efforts
  • Small technical team leadership

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $87,040.00 - USD $94,180.00 /Yr.
