Prime Air is seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Flight Safety and Training Officer (STO) to join our dynamic team. As the local safety and flight operations expert, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and compliant operation of our drone delivery fleet.

Key job responsibilities

• \tSupport development and implement comprehensive training programs for pilots, ground crew, and other personnel related to flight safety, workplace health & safety (WHS), and flight operations.

• \tConduct regular evaluations of pilots, ground crew, and operations to ensure adherence to safety standards and procedures.

• \tOversee all aspects of flight safety at Prime Air delivery sites, including risk assessment, incident investigation, and corrective action development.

• \tServe as the primary point of contact for frontline regulatory partners during inspections and visits.

• \tAnalyze flight data and safety metrics to identify trends and potential risks, and report findings to senior leadership.

• \tConduct routine audits of flight operations, WHS site safety, and compliance, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

• \tStay informed about and comply with all applicable Flight Safety, WHS, and Flight Operations regulations and procedures.

• \tWork collaboratively with all levels of the organization to promote a strong safety culture.

• \tMaintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.

Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon's ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

This position may be subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing if conducting safety sensitive functions as defined by the FAA. Federal law also requires Amazon to determine an applicant's DOT drug and/or alcohol testing history prior to hiring him/her into a position that would require them to conduct safety sensitive functions as defined by the FAA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• \tCurrent Part 61 license

• \tCurrent Part 107 license

• \tAdhere to the DOT Drug and Alcohol policy

• \tMinimum of 3 years of experience in a safety-critical role within the aviation industry or another regulated environment.

• \tStrong knowledge and understanding of Flight Safety, WHS, and Flight Operations regulations and procedures.

• \tProven ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.

• \tExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.

• \tExceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

• \tProven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• \tStrong computer skills, proficient in relevant software applications.

• \tValid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• \tBachelor's degree in aviation, engineering, safety, or a related field preferred.
