Job Description

Position Description:

The Floor Warehouse Supervisor, under the direction of the Deputy Director of Central Supply Services, is responsible for managing the Warehouse' stores department and the inventory control unit (ICU). Under this capacity, the Floor Warehouse Supervisor oversees daily operations for both areas, including handling labor relations matters, implementing and coordinating systems and procedures related to inventory control, storage, and supply management.

Detailed Tasks
  • Ensure appropriate daily staffing levels and staff assignments.
  • Communicate job expectations and provide proper guidance to employees.
  • Monitor inventory control, track, and coordinate with Receiving and Transportation Departments for timely deliveries, emergency deliveries, refusals, and returns of supplies and materials.
  • Plan and complete the yearly physical inventory of the Warehouse.
  • Evaluate and identify areas for improvement and establish innovative work procedures.
  • Order supplies and maintain appropriate levels of stock at all times.
  • Coordinate with ICU for replenishment requests, item updates, facility order requests, facility-based PAR levels, and adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain records, report relevant information, and submit productivity reports upon request.
  • Monitor warehouse staff to ensure basic maintenance standards and compliance with health and safety regulations, including safety procedures while operating forklifts and other machinery.
  • Perform daily safety inspections of the Warehouse.
  • Fulfill other duties as required.


Preferred Skills
  • Minimum of three (3) years of prior warehouse and logistics supervision experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational and follow-through to coordinate work plans, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to new situations, collaborate with team members, and work in a fast-pace environment with minimal supervision, when necessary
  • Ability to develop reports and analysis related to inventory control


Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration; and,
2. Three (3) years of experience in accounting, finance or business administration, two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity within relevant areas in settings related to a hospital, medical center or health care facility; and two (2) years of which must have been in a related management of purchasing capacity or,
3. Satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The education cited above may be substituted for by experience on a year-for-year basis. However, all candidates must have a minimum of a High School or its educational equivalent.
