HDR is seeking a Florida Water Business Group Professional Services Leader who is focused on quality delivery for our clients and growth in the marketplace to join our Florida leadership team. This position can be based out of our Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale or West Palm office.

This position is responsible for sustaining and strengthening the Group's technical excellence and high standard of professional services of our Business Class leadership for our clients. The successful candidate is expected to work closely and effectively with the National and Florida (i.e. Area) Business Class Leaders, Area Business Development Manager, Area Water Business Group Manager, as well as technical delivery staff of various levels of experience. They will also be responsible for leading the strategy for technical development of HDR's project delivery staff, executing HDR's quality management system for Area projects, working with leadership to manage technical risk in the Area, leading and supporting Business Class efforts to drive innovation in the market place, promoting HDR's technical and quality brand in the marketplace, supporting leadership with workload management and assignment of staff, and directing the right technical staff to work on the right projects for our clients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical skills development of delivery staff.
  • Serve as a mentor among the BC Leaders and delivery staff.
  • Lead the quality program for technical delivery in the area.
  • In partnership with Area leadership, develop and implement an annual plan including strategies and tactics to achieve Business Class initiatives.
  • Serve as a supervisor for Business Class Leaders and technical delivery staff, including workload management.
  • Support Business Class Leaders and others with recruitment as needed.
  • Serve as a Project Manager or part of a delivery team as needed.
  • Work with Area leadership, including the Area Manager, to streamline and coordinate business processes (e.g. QMS related processes).
  • Drive the execution of quality, standards, and best practices across the business classes.
  • Serve as the WBG's local champion for cross business group interactions (BGX).
  • Partner with our business group, market sector leaders, and client managers to leverage HDR's technical expertise and relationships in the pursuit of new opportunities.
  • Strategize and organize the groups approach for industry conferences, seminars, professional associations, and other external water focused organizations such as FWEA, FSAWWA, etc. to promote and advance HDR's technical brand in the marketplace.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience with technical and design delivery, and design management in the water/wastewater industry.
  • Proven experience in mentorship and development of technical skills.
  • Proven commitment to quality delivery for municipal clients.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Existing network of clients in South Florida.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience.
  • Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with leading diverse teams. Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values.
  • Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors and marketing managers.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
