Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:
  • Perform sample collection, preparation, retention, and storage activities.
  • Collect and distribute Certificates of Analysis for incoming ingredients.
  • Prepare and mail samples for outside evaluation.
  • Perform plating according to policy and procedure.
  • Perform swabbing and other environmental analysis tasks.
  • Perform tasks for managing test results and processing data.
  • Perform laboratory equipment and area sanitation tasks.
  • Perform Laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Purchase, receive, properly store, and utilize reagents and other supplies for use with Microbial testing or swabbing.
  • Performs all sensory testing panels.
  • Participate in internal auditing.
  • Participate in third party, regulatory, or customer audits as requested by the Quality Manager.
  • Provide back-up and assistance to Quality Technicians as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Use of testing equipment
  • Use of computer to record activity
  • Able to communicate to other Team Members the requirements
  • Ability to plan work load accordingly to production schedule and requirements
  • Ability to recognize tasks that need to be completed and complete them.
  • Successfully complete training program
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety
  • Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner
  • Serve as a backup for L5
WORKING CONDITIONS

Areas of facility may include controlled temperature zones including areas with refrigeration and noise levels requiring PPE.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Solid computer skills (MS Office, Word, Power Point and Excel)
  • Skill for recognition of new opportunities and problem solving
  • Ability to work in a multi-task, deadline-oriented environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and shifts
  • Must be willing to attend off-site training
  • Ability on a daily basis, walking, standing, crouching, lifting (25-35lbs), twisting, climbing, reaching
