1886 Cafe is a quaint, Victorian-style cafe that serves time-honored original recipes and traditional Texas comfort foods. Located in the Driskill Hotel, one of the oldest and most iconic hotels in Austin, 1886 Cafe is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Our cafe offers breakfast, lunch, brunch, and afternoon tea, as well as a variety of baked goods and pastries made fresh daily.

The Food Runner is responsible primarily for assisting in serving the guest by ensuring that orders are brought to the correct guest in a timely manner. This is a fast-paced position with continual customer contact. This position pays $15.00/hr and receives tips from Bartenders and Servers.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering food orders from the kitchen to the guests’ tables in a timely and professional manner

• T aking guest drink orders

• Clearing and resetting tables after guests have finished their meals

• Assisting servers with refilling drinks, removing plates, and attending to guests’ needs

• Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the dining area, service stations, and kitchen

• Following all safety and health regulations and procedures

• Working as a team player with other staff members to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays.
• Shifts primarily in the mornings, 6am-7am start time and 2pm-3pm end time
• A positive attitude and a friendly personality
• A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
• A flexible schedule and availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
