Job Duties

The Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation (VCBR), located in Burkeville, VA is a behavioral treatment center recognized for its excellence by securely housing and treating civilly committed sex offenders. VCBR provides recovery, opportunity and support to residents so they may safely return to their communities and is the only facility in the Commonwealth that provides such service.

The Food Service Department strives to efficiently and effectively provide food that meets the nutritional needs of the residents. The department also seeks to provide high customer satisfaction with enjoyable meals and snacks that are on time and the correct temperature.

This position will act as a lead worker to assist manager and is responsible for supervising multiple sections of a comprehensive food service system in areas of hot and cold food production, sanitation, tray line assembly, tray transportation and food storage. This individual may share opening and closing operations management to closely supervise dietary cost control, food security, food quality, quality of service delivery, safety, and sanitation in a 7-day a week, 16 hour a day operation. The successful candidate will assist management with customer satisfaction and take an active role in both the identification and correction of departmental improvement plans. Furthermore, the position will provide coverage for kitchen operations and support the kitchen as needed. The position is considered essential to operations and will be required to perform any/all duties listed in the EWP during emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid Virginia Driver's License required.

Experience in Food Service as a supervisor

Additional Considerations

Safe-Serve certification/ ability to become Safe Serve certified within a year of employment will be considered

Experience in a forensic mental health or comparable setting.

Experience working with sex offenders.
