About the position: This position will be assigned to the Scott Event Center - Common Grounds.
This is a Flexible position, guaranteed 0-40 hours.

Duties
Performs duties as a Food Service Worker (Cashier) in a variety of activities in the Event Center to include Common Grounds. Prepares beverage and food items such as espresso drinks, coffee, blended drinks, cappuccinos, brewed coffee, lattes, hot chocolate etc. Also serve limited cold beverages and food items. Serves food in a cafe/snack bar style.
Sets up and operates espresso machine, coffee machine, tea machine, and blender. Cleans machines used in the preparation of beverage and food items on a daily basis and performs simple maintenance as needed.
Sells posted menu items, daily specials, and a variety of prepared food items, such as muffins, cheesecakes, pastries, scones and drinks. Operates cash register, rings up sale, receives payment (cash, credit card, gift certificate, coupons) and tender's change. At the end of each shift, clears register and turns over the receipts and supporting documents along with money to supervisor. May prepare cashier's report and make deposits.
Maintains facility in a clean and orderly manner. Cleans interior and exterior of facility daily. Spot cleans area and equipment as needed during operating hours. At the end of the day, cleans area and breaks down and cleans equipment. Removes all pans at closing; washes, rinses and sanitizes. Cleans tabletops, chairs, and counters as needed throughout the shift. Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal areas. Performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleanings as scheduled.
Receives and inspects orders, brings discrepancies to supervisor's attention. Stores food IA W standard procedures. May perform or assist with inventories and ordering. Restocks racks and coolers with beverage and food items. Ensure all thaw and serve products are removed from freezer in a timely fashion to ensure items are ready to serve before and during open hours.

Experience in the operation of a cash register, direct handling of cash items, and cash accountability is desired. Must have the ability to communicate orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must be physically able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
