PRIMARY FUNCTIONS :

Repairs and performs maintenance tasks on battery powered pallet jacks, forklifts and narrow aisle high lifts. Repair building hardware and interiors. Install and repair rack systems. Will be required to learn basic and safe operations of facility systems i.e. sprinkler system, fire alarms, building automation and ammonia refrigeration system. Will be assigned tasks, which will require the ability to identify and solve problems with building systems and equipment in a safe and timely manner. Will be required to perform a wide range of activities ranging from but not limited to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and metal fabrication work.

EDUCATION AND JOB KNOWLEDGE :

Must have a High School diploma or equivalent. Should have a minimum or 5 yrs. experience as a maintenance mechanic. Should have a basic understanding of electrical circuits, hydraulic circuits, mechanical systems and engine repairs. Must have a working knowledge of safe maintenance repair practices. Must have a basic understanding of a Maintenance Department's organization and planning.

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

A physically demanding position requiring heavy lifting and carrying (50-100 lbs.). The ability to stand continuously is essential with occasional walking and sitting. The nature of this position will require employee to perform a wide range of physical activities ranging from pushing and pulling heavy objects (50-100 lbs.) to crouching, kneeling, bending and handling. Repetitive finger motions are also required. Must be willing and able to work in hot and cold environments. Willing and able to work overtime as needed. The ability to communicate in English is required.

Weekend work required.

3rd Shift position

Starting pay rate for the position is $20.75/hr
