FT Respiratory Care Tech - Bordentown/Willingboro

Summary:

Responsible for the maintenance and execution of the Pulmonary Function Laboratory, Blood Gas Laboratory, and associated pulmonary/respiratory diagnostic and therapeutic functions of the Respiratory Care Department.

Oversees department specialty supplies and equipment inventories.

These responsibilities are offered and maintained in order to provide the highest quality of service to the community at large.

Position Responsibilities:

• Performs pulmonary/respiratory diagnostic testing while assessing patient execution and response to instruction.

• Administers treatments/medications as prescribed by the physician.

• Maintains competency in all aspects of the Blood Gas Laboratory QC Program inclusive routine and emergency care and maintenance of analyzers.

• Teaches and reinforces education on disease process, treatment, and wellness to patient and/or family and the community at large.

• Sets-up, operates, and maintains medical gas and airway humidification systems.

• Interacts/interfaces with varying computer information management systems in order to document patient care related activities.

• Controls inventory and ordering of necessary specialty supplies and equipment for the Respiratory Care Department.

• Other duties as assigned. NOTE: Consistent accuracy of above work workload distribution highly variable as described. Position responsibilities must include adaptability to meet the daily conditions of service demand.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:

Preferred: 2 years Pulmonary Function Testing Laboratory experience.

Required Education:

Graduate of an AMA approved Associate's or Bachelor's Degree granting program in Respiratory Care.

Training/Certifications/Licensure:

Registered Respiratory Therapist as determined by the National Board for Respiratory Care.

Additional Certification or Registration as a Pulmonary Technologist preferred.

BLS credential required, ACLS preferred.

Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the New Jersey Board of Respiratory Care.
