This is not a corporate, remote or office-based position. This is a ten-week internship (40 hours per week) during the summer of 2025 located within one of Amazon's fulfillment centers, sort centers, delivery stations or other operations buildings. Amazon is seeking customer focused individuals eager to develop a collaborative leadership style with a team of hourly employees across our cutting-edge Operations network! Our warehouses are fast-paced supply chain environments where standing, walking, and having on-the-production floor conversations are common.
As an Area Manager Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn how to coach, motivate and mentor a team of Amazon associates in a warehouse environment. Amazon provides extensive training and development to become an exceptional people leader. Your main focus will be learning to manage a team as well as developing a summer project in partnership with your site leadership.
Term: 10 weeks
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $26.44/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $31.49/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Key job responsibilities
• \tLearn to coach, manage and develop a team of 50-100 Amazon Associates
• \tDrive standard work and continuous improvement through an intern project
• \tWork independently and operate in an autonomous environment
• \tStand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours
• \tWilling and able to regularly work shift patterns that include nights, weekends, and/or holidays based on business needs. While shifts vary site to site, most follow a fixed 4-day work week with 3 days off.
• \tOversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, operate PIT equipment (at applicable facilities) and step in as needed.
• \tWork in an environment where the noise level varies
• \tLift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach
• \tClimb and descend stairs (when applicable)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• \tCurrently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with all requirements anticipated to be completed between December 2025 and August 2026
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• \tStrong communication skills, both verbal and written
• \tExcellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• \tCurrently enrolled in a Bachelor's program for Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering or another related field.
