The Efficiency Engineering team is all about our passion for crafting innovative tools and applications that empower IT operations and devops teams to achieve new levels of efficiency. We're a tight-knit crew of experienced developers, engineers and problem solvers fueled by a shared vision: streamlining operations, reducing manual workload, and empowering teams to do their best work.
In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.
The team is seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to help develop internal tools to improve TikTok's platform. If you are passionate about tools development, building reliable software, love problem-solving, and are prepared for exciting challenges, we would like you to be on our team.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with product managers, data engineers, and other frontend/backend engineers to iterate on data driven product ideas.
- Responsible for optimising scalability, reliability and responsiveness of web-based application pages.
- Understand product objectives, drive and develop user-friendly solutions to satisfy customer needs.
- Provide full-stack expertise in developing new workflows end-to-end by working closely with design, product, and other cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally in a fast paced environment.
- Adopt automated and manual test strategies to ensure product quality.
- Learn and understand how TikTok products work and help build end-to-end solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field involving software development or systems engineering.
- 2+ years of working experience as a full stack engineer.
- Development experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go, C++, or related languages.
- Proficiency and experience working with Javascript ES5 or later, CSS, and at least one frontend framework such as React or Vue.
Preferred Qualifications
- Agile, quick self learner, highly self-motivated with strong sense of product ownership and creative problem solver
- Deeply passionate about software coding/development and building great web applications
- Ability to perform independent research to solve complex technical problems
- Good collaborator and team player, comfortable working in a fast moving, culturally diverse and globally distributed team environment
- Strong experience in architecting and implementing modern consumer-facing web applications.
- Understanding of construction and continuous integration, familiarity with at least one construction tool is an added bonus.
- Experience of driving collaboration across cross-functional teams on delivering shared goals.
