Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Occupational Therapy that is recognized by the AOTA.
  • Recognized by the NBCOT as a designated COTA (if state mandated).
  • Holds current license and/or registration in the state (as applicable).

Job Responsibilities
  • Implements treatment plan through direct treatment and collaboration with Occupational Therapist, education of treatment staff which includes fellow therapists and other members of team involved in the treatment plan .
  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and or recording medical history; confirming purpose of treatment.
  • Document patient's daily participation and progress on progress note in an accurate and timely fashion, and obtain the co-signature of the OTR.
  • Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, re-certifications and discharges.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all medical record, facility and rehab related information.
  • Maintains accurate billing information in accordance with facility procedures daily.
  • Attends/Leads interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and make recommendations to other members of the rehab team.
  • Complies with the documentation requirements of the rehab department and facility under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Assists with staff/family training and education when appropriate by formal and informal in-services as well as consultations.
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • Maintains professional growth and development, by participating in continuing education programs, and other approved learning experiences.
