Job Summary:
The Garage Porter-Lead keeps designated garage area and outside vehicle lots neat and orderly, keep the customers and staff traffic moving, and locating parking. Enforce Erlanger's smoke free campus policy in accordance with Erlanger parking policy. Assist Security with lost cars, car boosts, and surveillance. Perform garage maintenance. And other duties as assigned related to Parking Department. The Lead Porter will also take a lead role in the day-to-day job assignments for other staff and be responsible for employee scheduling. Will make sure duties are covered when staff members are out. Will keep an inventory of supplies, and will reorder when necessary. Will take control of all gate issues and work with vendor to make sure proper repairs are made. Will be responsible for daily cash collections from machines/vaults and make daily bank deposits. Prepare monthly financial reports for department manager. Will inform manager of all issues within the department without fail.

Required:
High School Graduate

Preferred:
2-year Associate degree

Experience:
Required:
4 plus years of experience in security and customer service

Preferred:
Supervisory experience in security or customer service, completed Erlanger emerging leader training.

Department Position Summary:
Erlanger's Parking and Transportation Services Department controls, organizes, and has day to day operation of system parking. Included is all parking garages, outside lots, valet services and shuttle service for staff members. This includes all campuses.

The Lead Garage Porter keeps all entrances leading into the hospital neat and clean, and notifies garage staff of items that need to be addressed for cleaning. Takes the lead role in Erlanger's No Smoking Policy within the garage by speaking with staff and visitors regarding the smoke free policy. Assist customers with locating their cars. Provide free battery boosts within the garage, and assist customers with car issues by calling towing companies, or calling someone to help customers. Be the eyes and ears for security in the garage, notifying the Security Department of possible issues using company cell phone or radio. Help all customers find parking by providing directions to open parking areas. Knowing at all times where open parking spaces are open. Keep a log of all maintenance issues, and keep the Director informed of scheduled repairs. Report all equipment failure to the garage company, respond to equipment failure and assist customers until garage staff arrives. Assist in all garage backups with directions and assistance to customers and staff. Seek to help customers 100% of the time to have a better experience in the garage. Handle cash from vaults and make bank deposits.
