The Division of General Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is seeking clinician-educators and academic clinicians in Hospital Medicine and/or Perioperative and Consultative Medicine. Hospital Medicine:
  • Join a collaborative and dedicated team caring for patients at Froedtert Hospital, a 700-bed, Level I award-winning, regional referral center in Milwaukee, WI
  • Work on a variety of teams, advance heart failure, procedures, and observation team in conjunction with the Emergency Department
  • Participate in a variety of scholarly projects. Experience structured mentorship in medical education, quality improvement, and research.
  • Teaching and education opportunities with residents, medical students and Advance Practiced Providers


Perioperative and Consultative Medicine:
  • Join the perioperative medicine team which collaborates with neurosurgery, orthopedic, vascular, plastic, ENT, and trauma surgery on dedicated inpatient co-management teams. Opportunity for blended positions with primary care and hospital medicine Numerous opportunities for scholarly projects, structured mentoring in medical education and quality improvement, and additional faculty development opportunities through the Clinical and Translational Institute of southeast Wisconsin (CTSI) and the MCW medical and graduate schools.

About the Division of General Internal Medicine

The Division of General Internal Medicine is one of the largest of ten divisions within the Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. The mission is best expressed through its commitment to patient care, medical education, research, and innovation, as well as its regional and national presence as a leader in the comprehensive care and treatment of the adult patient. The Division consists of four Sections: Primary Care, Hospitalist Medicine, Perioperative and Consultative Medicine, and the VA General Internal Medicine (including both primary care and hospitalist medicine). Division members provide clinical service in the areas of inpatient, primary, and urgent care at both Froedtert Hospital and the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. They also foster innovation and conduct research in patient care and clinical knowledge, with the aim to reduce the cost of medical care through clinical efficiency and patient education. Many faculty members serve in leadership roles with the Society of General Internal Medicine, the Society of Hospital Medicine and the American College of Physicians, and many present frequently at regional and national meetings of these societies. The Division is home to many of the key educational leaders in the Department of Medicine.
