Miller Brother Staffing in York, PA has the immediate need of General Laborers for a 2 week project.
PAY RATE - $16-$20/hour based on experience
SHIFT:
1 st Shift: 7AM-3 or 4 PM | Mon-Fri

POSITION SUMMARY:

The general laborer/ shop assistant will be responsible for a variety of helper-based tasks, from painting, assembling parts, cleaning, assisting with picking up of parts, complete certain shop work as a helper to the fabrication employees, etc.

3 MOST IMPORTANT THINGS-

• Strong Hand/ Power tool Knowledge, ability to accurately use a tape measurer.
• Candidate has mechanical Aptitude. (Construction Background/ or some type of training related to Millwright/ Industrial Construction such as welding, fabrication, etc. )
• Seeking a long-term candidate, open and willing to do anything/ learn, and grow; From cleaning up the shop, learning to paint, going with another employee to pick up parts, etc.

JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:

• Follow work orders/ written instructions to correctly assemble components.
• Upon training, industrial painting with use of spray guns.
• Running a horizontal saw to cut material and other task as needed
• Quality control of finished products
• Use of hand and potentially power tools to assemble products by hand.
• Complete accurate assembly work by positioning and aligning components.
• Assemble components, parts of items, and completed hand-finishing of final products.
• Smooth surfaces to enhance alignment of parts and finishes.
• Analyze parts to determine quality and conformance to specifications.
• Recognize defective material and report issues to management.
• Use established assembly instructions to complete jobs.
• Follow safety procedures while working in an industrious environment to operate hand and potentially power tools.
• Properly store and dispose of materials to prevent possible safety risks and injury.
• Remove physical refuse and debris and organized tools to maintain safe work environment.
• Maintain neat, organized, and clean work areas to avoid safety concerns or project delays.

REQUIREMENTS-

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Must have minimum 1 year experience with industrial related work, construction, or automotive, industrial paint, and or relative field.
• Good Communication skills
• Positive attitude and excellent work ethic
• Must have steel toed boots

PHYSICAL DEMANDS-

• Must be able/willing to lift up to 50lbs consistently throughout the day.
• Be able to stand, walk, lift, etc. to complete necessary jobs/ tasks will be on feet for duration of shift.
• Be able to perform specific tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, twisting, pushing, pulling, squatting, or kneeling, as needed.
• Work is performed within a shop environment, subject to temperature variations, mechanical parts, and dust.
