Job Summary:

ROLE OVERVEIW:

The Global Benefits M&A team provides consultative international employee benefits due diligence services to the private equity community and Lockton’s existing client base. The Global Benefits M&A team’s role is to analyze and evaluate data gathered from the target corporation in order to assess potential deal issues and cost impacts to the client, the buyer.You will have ownership of a written report summarizing your findings, identifying risks, and providing recommendations and opportunities for the post-transaction entity related to their employee benefit plans.



This role offers a flexible & hybrid work environment that allows our Associates to work fully remote or split their time between in-person and remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



As a Global Benefits M&A Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Global Benefits M&A Lead in developing and maintaining best in class approaches to:
    • Establish and maintain operational best practices.
    • Identify areas to streamline.
    • Automate and scale processes appropriate in order to support the growth of the business.
    • Train and develop Global Benefits M&A team.
  • Managing the due diligence process from the initial client reach out to the deal closing. To be done in partnership with the Lockton Transaction Advisory Practice team and the Global Benefits M&A deal team.
  • Addressing client’s queries and communicating with the target companies’ management team during the data gathering process, both orally and in writing.
  • Documents are commonly in foreign language and may need to be translated using internal tools.
  • Identifying risks and providing recommendations and opportunities for the post-transaction entity related to their international employee benefits in partnership with Lockton’s international brokers and advisors.
  • Drafting with and in some instance, peer reviewing client deliverables.
  • Presenting findings to clients.
  • Managing post-transaction activities like benefit integration and standalone implementation.


Requirements:

  • Minimum five years' experience in the global employee benefits industry.
  • Experience with M&A and knowledge of the due diligence process.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant business discipline or equivalent work experience.


DESIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects to successful completion simultaneously.
  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks
  • Understanding of various countries statutory requirements and market practice in relation to benefit and retirement plans.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements in relation to retirement and employee benefits concepts.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills - both written and oral - including the ability to lead conference calls with C-suite professionals and draft comprehensible and grammatically correct written reports.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to interact with Associates at all levels of responsibility, both within the department and across the company.
  • Working knowledge of the private equity industry and the application of employee benefits due diligence a plus.
  • Actuarial background a plus.
  • Experience living and working overseas a plus.
  • Foreign language skills a plus.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
