About the Opportunity:

We are partnering with an energy company based in Carlsbad in search of a Global Controller. As Global Controller, you`ll manage corporate accounting, oversee financial reporting, and lead the monthly closing process. You`ll coordinate annual audits, review regional financial results, and ensure compliance with reporting requirements. Collaborating with other teams, you`ll also implement process improvements and provide direction to regional finance teams.

Salary: $190,000 - $240,000
Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee corporate accounting function.
• IFRS and US GAAP financial reporting, including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and other regulatory filings.
• Oversee and review the consolidation of financial statements, Consolidated Statements, MD&A, FP&A, and Budget process.
• Manage the monthly closing process, ensuring timely production of monthly of consolidated financial statements.
• Manage the annual audits for the consolidated company and certain subsidiaries.
• Review financial results from regions and when necessary, facilitate discussions to resolve issues over intercompany matters.
• Implement a monthly closing and reporting process, based on best practices and the COSO Framework.
• Collaborating with the Legal, Development, and other teams, develop a process that ensures orderly transition for proper compliance with terms under new contracts, including loan documents, O&M agreements, EPC contracts, etc.
• Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
• Provide direction to regional accounting and finance teams.
• Implement process improvements when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor`s degree in Accounting or equivalent, CPA or equivalent credential.
• Minimum 15 years of experience that includes public accounting, multinational and multicurrency organizations, and publicly-traded companies.
• Knowledge and experience with both US GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience with financial reporting and compliance for a publicly traded company.
• Demonstrated capabilities in creating and maintaining a strong internal accounting control environment.
• Experience with global entities and global teams, including foreign currency transactions, and multi­currency consolidations.
• In-depth understanding of construction/energy accounting, including revenue recognition, percent of completion, and cost accounting.
• Ability to execute and follow-through to produce complete, accurate and timely deliverables.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment.
• Must be able to work independently, think critically while applying consistent standards of work product.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics/D365 or similar is preferred.
