Meta is seeking a leader experienced to become part of our Global Services (GS) Design, Engineering, and Construction (DEC) team. The DEC team endeavors to advance the state of physical security infrastructure and building systems through strategic and innovative solutions. The regional manager position will support all new build and retrofit projects for the workplace in the North America, Latin America, and South America regions. They will endeavor to develop, facilitate, and streamline processes to improve efficiency and consistency in how physical security infrastructure and other building systems are designed and delivered to empower Global Workplace Services (GWS) overall mission to deliver first class workspaces for the business. Candidates should understand critical aspects of project design such that they can guide scalable design solutions for both technology and non-technology solutions within the built environment. This includes working with various cross-functional teams within GWS and Global Security to ensure physical security standards are properly integrated into GWS's processes to provide predictability in security design and execution. Specific responsibilities are listed below.

Global Services DEC Regional Manager NORAM LATAM Responsibilities


  • Pre-Design: Assess security risk and business risk during early project phases to influence design strategy.

  • Design Development: Responsible for a well-defined and coordinated set of documents that capture project design intent and all relevant standards and guidelines. This will require attending meetings and working across all levels of the organization to provide background and educate both technical and non-technical stakeholders on the design requirements.

  • Design Coordination: Support integration of physical security and other building system design elements into civil, landscape, structural, architectural, and electrical design elements.

  • Design Verification: Review design documents to ensure alignment with relevant standards and guidelines.

  • Project Execution: Actively manage the end-to-end process of delivering physical security infrastructure and technology projects ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

  • Resource Planning: Develop annual forecasting and resource allocation strategy for design, construction, and support services based on ongoing and projected pipeline projects. This will require a complete understanding and awareness of global strategy for regions and their associated projects.

  • Continuous Improvement: Review and arbitrate proposed product updates and standards modifications. Update design & delivery documents in line with evolving design standards for consistency and stakeholder alignment.

  • Vendor Management: Provide administration and oversight of all vendor master service agreements, scope of works, and contracts for design & construction. Actively engage key stakeholders to drive alignment. Facilitate quarterly business reviews with vendors.

  • Project Management: Oversee & facilitate the various processes and stakeholders to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and timely completion of project construction that is on budget.

  • Construction Support: Analyzes and resolves construction process problems and issues and effectively communicates and interfaces with all levels of organization. Respond to all escalated RFIs and change orders.

  • Construction Verification: Validate construction with design documents, technical standards, and regulatory requirements prior to project completion. Document deviations and variances.

  • Retrofits: Assess and implement modifications to existing projects while maintaining alignment with cross functional partners and organizational strategy.

  • Process Integration: Work with various cross-functional teams within Global Workplace Services (GWS) to ensure all processes are properly integrated into the overall workplace program to provide predictability in design and execution.


Minimum Qualifications


  • 5+ years of work experience in large scale corporate/technology/industrial design, construction, operations, and maintenance or similar experience in commercial office space construction.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (MEP, Architectural, Structural, or Civil), Construction Management, or a related field. A combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • In-depth knowledge of the building construction discipline, including project design (codes, standards, etc) and delivery methodologies (contracts, documents schedules, etc).

  • Experience preparing annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly reports for multiple projects and/or programs.

  • Experience with physical security principles, including commonly used concepts, strategies, practices, and procedures.

  • Experience prioritizing requests, managing projects, and working with large project teams to meet target delivery dates.

  • Experience with communicating technical details to all organizational levels, including non-technical personnel.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Advanced degree in Engineering (MEP, Architectural, Structural, or Civil), Construction Management, or a related field

  • Physical Security Certification (PSP, CPP, CPTED, etc)

  • Experience with low voltage security systems or other building systems.

  • 10+ years of experience in the field or in a related area preferred. Work experience in all disciplines of construction (civil, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and security/low voltage) preferred.

  • Experience with site selection, due diligence, and master planning of large-scale mission critical projects or other campus-style projects.

$113,000/year to $165,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
