The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Supply Chain Manager to create and execute the tactical and operational buying strategy of logistic services related to global air. In this role, the GSM will be responsible for the qualification, selection and contracting of air transportation and related logistics services supporting automotive parts, service parts, and energy business areas of the organization. In depth knowledge of the industry, fostering positive business relationships and experience in negotiating contracts related to air will be a key requirement of the role.
This candidate will be a member of our Supply Chain Organization supporting the development, implementation and management of strategies to provide Tesla with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance.
The Supply Chain Manager builds and leverages strong working relationships with key suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. They work towards good supplier relationships and total costs of ownership to achieve maximum advantage for Tesla and our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Owner of RFI's, RFP's, and RFQ's to ensure all commercial terms are agreed and documented; Ensures NDA, SOW's, and Master Purchase Agreements are positioned appropriately before business is initiated
  • Drive price negotiations processes to ensure that Tesla's commodity pricing are best in class
  • Lead purchasing activities with internal stakeholders: Finance, Logistics Operations, Production, and Engineering departments and develop bid specifications, identify potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, vet suppliers, prepare bid-recaps, and make sourcing recommendations
  • Analyze current spend and current suppliers; Consolidate spend across supply base to create leverage, analyze purchasing trends and develop sourcing alternatives
  • Co-develop global commodity strategies and transportation blueprints with internal stakeholders to drive a comprehensive, simplified, and competitive logistics supplier strategy in support of product growth plans and expansions
  • Develop key performance measures for chosen suppliers and negotiate on multiple variables to award longer-term strategic contracts that result in significant cost reducation and improved service levels
  • Develop sourcing and negotiation strategies that deliver against business objectives and achieves sustainable relationships with suppliers


Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, evidence of exceptional ability, or equivalent
  • Over 5 years of related experience in vendor/carrier management in a Supply Chain
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of purchasing processes (SOP's, RFP/RFQ/RFI's, PO's, etc.)
  • Superior negotiation, organization, analytical, and communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high quality results
  • Excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills, including an ability to effectively communicate across all levels of an organization, technical and non-technical audience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel

      $72,000 - $264,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
