The GOM Reservoir Engineer will be part of the GOM Asset Dev Department and will support the Gulf of Mexico in managing both short and long term planning as well as in controlling program execution while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This will be done by working closely with the Assets, Plants and Operational Support groups to gather, analyze and reconcile all necessary data to allow execution of these plans.

• Commercial Evaluation

o Perform economics - forecasting, pricing, financial modelling, commercial basics, predict cash flow, portfolio analysis, structure acquisition/divestiture transactions, value producing propertie

o Decision analysis - decision analysis trees/processes, probability and statistical, portfolio management, optimization, evaluation modelling

• Reservoir Characterization

o Fluid properties - analyze oil, gas, water fluid properties, drive fluid sampling and laboratory testing of fluids, evaluate fluid components and phase envelopes, perform compositional and other complex fluid type analyse

o Reservoir rock properties - assess reservoir thickness, porosity, permeability, characterize rock: initial water saturations, wettability, relative permeability and capillary pressures, determine pressure dependent rock properties and mineralogy in some case

o Volumetric Analysis - calculate original hydrocarbons in place

o Reservoir heterogeneity and characterization - analyze homogeneity to heterogeneity of the reservoirs, understand stress profiles and drainage area

• Reservoir Performance Analysis and Forecasting

o Material Balance - determine original volumes in place and make predictions on reservoir performance, model aquifer and other drive mechanisms, rationalize with mapping and volumetric

o Fluid flow and well productivity analysis - analyze fluid flow in porous formations, pressure transient analysis, rate transient analysis and other advanced decline curve analysis, well productivity index calculation and monitoring, rate and recoverable estimate

• Fluid Displacement Analysi

o Apply fluid displacement concepts and techniques along with non-uniform fluid movement

• Analytical Performance Analysis of Reservoir Mechanism

o Assess reservoir types and drive mechanism

o Gas reservoir analysis and performance prediction

o Black-Oil reservoir analysis and performance prediction

o Waterflood performance interpretation and prediction

o All decline curve performance analysis, advanced and traditional

• Reservoir Simulation for performance analysis and production forecasting

o Broad understanding of simulation concepts, types, models, data input

o Assess heterogeneities and how to represent in the model

o Understand and build surface to subsurface networks, nodal analysi

o Perform compositional modelling where applicable

o Coordinate / support corporate forecasting and budgeting processes for volumes and capital

• Reservoir Surveillance and Management

o Determine reserves through probabilistic method

o Understand and apply SEC reserve guideline

o Determine reserves through deterministic method

• Reservoir Development - Life Cycle

o Integration with other disciplines and partners - Drive multi-discipline integration of the project

o Reservoir Management - perform reservoir surveillance, studies on analogous wells, reservoirs and other fields, enhanced recovery techniques and screening, intervention planning and management, field development planning, appraisal leadership, rate and recovery estimates pre-development and brownfield

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering or similar
  • Minimum 8 years oil & gas industry experience
  • Maintain a work ethic to establish priorities, organize, and implement own work plan while proactively making themselves available to all asset teams and ability to communicate across disciplines
  • Ability to Lead and Coordinate ad-hoc business needs and perform conventional RE duties, e.g., budget comparisons, RE Economic Analysis, Decision Analysis, evaluation modeling
