Baer is looking for Google Cloud Database Engineer for a 6-month Federal Remote Project.

Title: Google Cloud Database Engineer
Location: Remote (Must be based in US)
Duration: 6 months
Rate: All-inclusive
Alignment: W2 or C2C (Vendors Not Permitted)

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage databases using Postgres and Cloud SQL.
• Conduct performance tuning to ensure optimal database performance.
• Analyze and model data and schemas to optimize database design and queries.
• Develop and maintain database models to support business requirements.
• Utilize Datastream for data migration and real-time data integration.
• Migrate databases from Postgres to BigQuery ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Set up, manage, and optimize BigQuery environments.
• Perform performance tuning on BigQuery for efficient data processing.
• Develop and manage data pipelines using DataFlow or Cloud Composer.
• Ensure data pipelines are efficient, reliable, and scalable.
• Continuously monitor and optimize database performance.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in data processing and querying.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Database Engineer or similar role.
• Extensive experience with Postgres/Cloud SQL and performance tuning.
• Strong expertise in data and schema analysis modeling.
• Trained and experienced in using Datastream for data migration and integration.
• Proven track record of migrating databases from Postgres to BigQuery.
• In-depth knowledge of BigQuery and its performance optimization techniques.
• Experience in developing data pipelines using DataFlow or Cloud Composer.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Public Trust Security Clearance is the lowest level of additional background screening that the federal government requires for applicants of certain jobs, which includes completing a Standard Form 85 (SF85) form.
