JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Personal Healthcare Coordinator (Registered Nurse) in this position, you will have the responsibility of overseeing the integration of healthcare services provided to students within the educational settings, ensuring compliance with Medicaid regulations, and optimizing reimbursement opportunities. Your role will involve collaborating with multiple stakeholders and promoting the health and well-being of students.

RESPONSIBILITIES: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE CLASS
Coordinate healthcare services provided to students within educational institutions, including schools and school districts.

Collaborate with school nurses, assistants, administrators, and healthcare providers to assess students' healthcare needs and develop individualized healthcare plans.

Ensure compliance with Medicaid regulations and guidelines for the provision of reimbursable healthcare services in school settings.

Provide training and support to school nurses, assistants, and staff members on documentation requirements, and compliance standards.

Serve as a liaison between schools, healthcare providers, and the Medicaid Coordinator to facilitate communication and resolve issues related to healthcare services and reimbursement.

Monitor students' healthcare needs and outcomes, collaborating with healthcare providers to adjust services and interventions as needed.

Maintain accurate records of healthcare services provided to students, Medicaid billing activities, and reimbursement documentation.

Stay updated on changes to Medicaid policies, regulations, and billing procedures affecting healthcare services in educational settings.
EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of Medicaid regulations, billing procedures, and reimbursement requirements. Experience working in school nursing or pediatric healthcare settings preferred.

Strong understanding of healthcare needs and best practices in school-based healthcare delivery.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Attention to detail and accuracy in Medicaid documentation. Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and guidelines.

Proficiency in computer applications, including Medicaid billing software and electronic health records systems.

Experience providing training or education sessions to healthcare professionals or staff members
QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Health Sciences or a related field is required and five

(5) years progressively responsible work experience with primary responsibility for the duties and responsibilities supporting and coordinating the integration of healthcare services provided to students within the educational settings, ensuring compliance with Medicaid regulations, and optimizing reimbursement opportunities.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Active Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) as certified by the Virginia Board of Nursing is required, or Eligibility for Virginia Licensure/Endorsement through comity, reciprocity, or equivalence may be acceptable.

A valid driver 's license, proof of insurability, and a safe driving record is required.
