About the College/Unit/Department

In 2018, The UGA Tifton Campus began a yearlong Centennial celebration with various events to commemorate its 100th anniversary of providing updated research to the community.

Research is done on a wide range of commodities, including cotton, peanuts, vegetables and turf grass, all of which make agriculture the No. 1 industry in Georgia.

In 2004, a teaching program was initiated and it has been growing ever since. College-level instruction on campus is aimed at undergraduate and graduate-degree level study.

Position Summary

The incumbent is needed to assist and coordinate with the Project Director and other Co-PDs, Co-Principal Investigators (PIs) and collaborators with respect to the following duties; conducting monthly meetings with PD and Co-PD, bi-monthly meetings with Co-PIs and team leaders, and semi-annual meetings with the Stakeholder Advisory Panels. The incumbent is also needed to assist PD in regular communication via email with team leaders, Co-PDs and Co-PIs with regards to project objectives, experiments and field trials. The employee will assist in managing and updating webpages of the respective projects. There is an expectation to assist PD in compiling annual NIFA project reports. The Project Manager will also assist PD in managing and overseeing project budgets and expenditures and regularly communicate with the UGA business Office and the UGA Sponsored Program Administration (SPA).

  • Computer proficiency to include Microsoft 365 and digital services such as DocuSign and PDF editing
  • Previous experience tracking project budgets and writing project summaries is preferred
