Job Summary:

Manage the grant resource discovery, eligibility analysis, strategic need compatibility, grant application preparation and institutional review process, and management of award implementation and compliance requirements for government and public grants and for private and external foundation grants. Write grant proposals and provide assistance to College employees seeking external grant funding by serving as the clearing house for all grant proposals.

Job Duties:

Cultivate and maintain an in-depth knowledge of federal and state grant laws and regulations. In partnership with campus partners, write and prepare grant proposals, grant re-applications, and letters of inquiry for submission to government agencies, corporations, and foundations. Identify and research opportunities for grant funding from public, private and foundation sources that fit with the College's strategic plan. Facilitate the mechanics of the planning process of proposal development by convening appropriate groups to develop and write grants. Review and ensure that assigned projects are completed and submitted in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations of the granting agency directions and the college policies and procedures. Provide information concerning the College and community and assist with the development of budget and statistical data to support grant proposals. Review drafts and final grant proposals and coordinate final packaging of proposals for shipment. Provide assistance and direction in the administration of grants and monitor the budget for proper use of funds. Provide grant writing workshops for faculty and staff. Maintain knowledge of sponsor agencies including funding opportunities, policies, and program changes. Maintain grant files and ensure audit-ready records. Develop and maintain a database of proposals and a tracking system to monitor grant status. Serve on appropriate College committees. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.
Four years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, English, Project Management, or related field.
Two or more years of experience writing, developing, and managing multiple federal grants (i.e. - National Science Foundation, TRIO, Department of Education, and other federal departments or agencies.)
Experience working with private donors and fundraising staff and other groups to develop and manage grants.
Two or more years experience in higher education.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of Grant funding regulations and of producing a high volume of grant proposals.
Good analytical and strong organizational skills, ability to understand and interpret complex guidelines, and quickly and accurately, detail oriented, and ability to relate to a variety of individuals.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Demonstrated proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Word.
Strong budgetary management/oversight skills.
Must be a willing advocate of the mission of the college.

Pay Rate: $56,881 - $71,101 annual salary depending on experience
