Essential Functions
  • Reviews submitted grants and contracts, including budgets, of protocols for basic research studies with the assistance of the Law Department. 50%
  • Coordinates with Research Finance and research department to ensure fiscally responsible negotiated non-complex lower value sponsor research budgets. 30%
  • Assures the timely processing of administration of UHC protocols and grants. 10%
  • Maintains accurate administrative records including database entries. 10%

Qualifications:
Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Required

Work Experience
  • 1+ years of experience in grant and contract administration involving research (master's degree or law/business experience will be considered in lieu of research administration experience). Required and
  • Experience in clinical trial research and budget construction Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Excellent communication, writing and editing skills . Required
  • Working knowledge of applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Required
  • Individual will be to learn Cost Accounting principles for grant administration in academic institutions (circulars A-110, A-21 and A-133). Required
  • General PC skills and ability to organize and multi-task is a must Required

Licenses and Certifications
  • Certification in Human Subjects Protection (CITI) Required

Additional Licenses and Certifications
  • Will train to become a Certified Contract Coordinator (CCC). Required
