Pre-press Mac Designer - Chattanooga Merchandising Display
Shift: Monday - Friday 7am to 3:30pm
Summary:
The Pre-press Mac Designer position is responsible for assisting with the movement of graphics work through the Pre-press Department.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED minimum.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient Microsoft Office computer skills to include Outlook, Word and Excel.

Summary:
The Pre-press Mac Designer position is responsible for assisting with the movement of graphics work through the Pre-press Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Receive customer art from Project Coordinator or Customer.
- Preflight art to Offset/Digital Press specifications.
- Submit hard copy/electronic proofs for customer approval.
- Communicate with Project Management Group, Press room, and Finishing to ensure correct file production.
- RIP files for production use to offset and digital presses.
- Conduct quality checks.
- Complete all internal department documents.
- Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Overtime may be required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Qualifications
- Must have at least one (1) plus years of industry experience as a Mac Operator or equivalent experience in art design or art file conversion for production printing.
- Must be proficient in using Apple Mac Pro computer and the following computer software; Adobe Creative Suite, RIP software - preferably "Prinergy" or similar and Caldera or similar.
- The position requires a highly motivated, self-starter with great attention to detail and the ability and flexibility to work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.
