Position Summary

The graphic designer position focuses on developing and maintaining a consistent visual image for the health system by conceiving and executing designs for all media including print, digital and web. This includes--but is not limited to--partnering with and supporting the marketing and communications department in the creation and delivery of creative product; maintaining and applying knowledge of the technology necessary to support corporate design needs; and leading visual efforts to develop cohesive, high-quality messages for ECU Health. Ensures that all marketing materials are in support of the overall marketing strategy and supportive of the health system's brand.

Responsibilities

Conceives and creates designs for internal and external use for ECU Health.

Assists Marketing and Communications colleagues in determining the most appropriate form for
communicating the message.

Creates comprehensive layouts for presentation.

Responsible for producing a variety of complex printed and digital documents, including web graphics.

Utilizes branded templates and tools as appropriate.

Creates custom-designed graphics when needed.

Works with vendors to output files to appropriate delivery medium.

Proofs own work.

Executes final artwork accurately and efficiently.

Researches outside sources for photography and illustration when necessary and oversees their production.

Art direct photo or video shoots and manage production through delivery.

Serves as a facilitator of brand management for the system.

Ensures adherence to all brand standards in all graphic design.

Proactively shares with direct leadership ideas and suggestions on revising and updating graphic standards
and guidelines.

Serves as brand consultant to other ECU Health team members and departments.
Develops and maintains resources and tools to effectively deliver creative services in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner.

Maintains relationships with vendors and knowledge of production methods to effectively manage the production process.

Supervises the process to ensure that jobs are completed on schedule and that they conform to quality standards.

Recommends new tools and resources to be used in the organization in order to stay abreast of current technology gaining creativity and efficiency in processes.

Minimum Requirements

Associate Degree or higher

At least two years of recent and related experience in a graphic designer role and/or creative services environment, delivering high quality creative design services.

Highly organized with a strong ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient with current creative design and professional office software including--but not limited to--Adobe Creative Suite and MAC platforms.

Proficient in digital, social, print and beyond--campaign integration across all channels.

Excellent concepting skills.

Excellent team collaboration skills.

Brings genuine, original creative ideas to the table.

Understands the structure of brand identity--how the visual and verbal executions come together to create a holistic brand experience.

Demonstrates independent problem-solving, taking initiative to address questions or concerns without prompting.

Ability to work solo and as a contributor to a high-performing, tight-knit team.
