What we Seek:

The Groundwater Practice within our Water service line has an exciting new opportunity for an exceptional individual with strong technical, leadership, business development, operational management, and communications skills to be our Groundwater Director - North America. This person will lead a skilled team of hydrogeologists and other professionals to provide high-quality, leading-edge groundwater sustainability solutions to our clients. The position will also give you the opportunity to collaborate with other Water and Environment practice leads and Senior leaders within Worley across the globe.

This is a full-time position based in one of our US offices - Los Angeles, Santa Ana, Houston, Baton Rouge, or Denver - with the option to work remotely for the foreseeable future.

This position will report to the North American Vice President - Water.

As Groundwater Director - North America, you will have responsibilities for growing the business, business operations planning and management, people management, client focus and development, technical review, and oversight, and HSS performance. Knowledge of groundwater practice, vision, leadership, and communications skills are key aspects of this position. You must be team-focused, with proven experience in successfully leading groups of professionals in a friendly, dynamic, and collaborative team environment.

Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
• Provide senior technical review and subject matter expertise on select projects.
• Accountability and ownership of the Groundwater team's annual business budget.
• Prepare the monthly Groundwater financial forecast, in conjunction with direct reports.
• Accountable for the Groundwater team's overhead costs and preparation/input to the annual group budget.
• Accountable for overall Groundwater team profitability and contribution margin.
• Review Groundwater projects with respect to as-sold and as-delivered margins.
• Develop Groundwater strategy documents to drive the business.
• Actively lead and oversee business development for the Groundwater team.
• Review requests for proposals and make recommendations on bid/no-bid decisions.
• Review proposals with respect to sales strategy and financial metrics.
• Capabilities and develop proposals to support Groundwater involvement.
• Promote the team's capabilities within Worley and externally.
• HR oversight of direct reports.
• Support workload and project assignments in collaboration with direct reports.
• Prepare monthly resourcing plans for the Groundwater team in collaboration with direct reports.
• Staff development, mentoring, and building the team's capabilities.
• Recruit and hire Groundwater staff in collaboration with direct reports.
• Coordinate preparation of Groundwater capabilities matrices, marketing materials, strategy documents, proposals, etc.
• HSS leadership.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree, or higher, from an accredited institution.
• Registered as a Professional Geoscientist or Engineer within a respective geography.
• 15+ years of experience in groundwater consulting science and engineering including within the conventional energy, chemicals and fuels, power and new energy, mining, minerals, and metals, and infrastructure sectors.
• Solid understanding of business planning and a proven track record of delivering on the business of groundwater consulting.
• A high level of business acumen, business development capability, and client focus.
• Strong track record of growing businesses and teams.
• Solid understanding of hydrogeology and its applications across the water cycle, with a good understanding of larger trends, technologies, and opportunities across all aspects of the Water business.
• Proven ability to effectively manage diverse teams of professional scientists and engineers.
• Entrepreneurial and proactive, with strong leadership skills and a passion for building/growing a business.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to review and edit reports, documents, and other client deliverables.
• Working knowledge of industry standard business support systems, e.g., customers sales platforms, cost management systems, quality management systems.
• Demonstrable commitment to HSS management.

Pay: $157,576-$232,976 USD and commensurate with experience
